Unfortunately, the goods are in the framework and not in any of the controls, ie. theres no easy way to put a nice high-color image with alpha information on a form, much less choose the size you want. Heres a simple Little control that does just that. You specify an icon and the designer will snap to the valid icon sizes, drawing them with the correct resource from the icon file -- not just resizing the 32x32 image. you can free download HighColorIcon class 1.0 now.
