The AT Trail app provides topographic trail maps, elevation profiles, points of interest, and GPS localization along the Appalachian Trail. The app brings all the great information available in guide books, but combines that with your current location along the trail.

The suite of apps provide information for the entire 2178-mile Appalachian Trail. This Section includes data beginning at Springer Mountain in Georgia, continuing through GA, and finishing in North Carolina at the Fontana Dam Shelter (Miles 0 - 163.7).

The application is interactive and you get more out of it when you are on the trail. Check it out and you'll see how it updates. Elevations update while you walk and zoom in/out on the map.

The application does provide the distance from your current location to every other point in the section including water sources and shelters.

The ability to take photos and more are in the works. It's version 1, give us some time :-)
