It combines an easy-to-use anaesthetic medication and resuscitation dose calculator, paediatric clinical guidelines and a paediatric anaesthetia news facility. It is produced by the Anaesthetic Department of Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Trust UK, one of Europe’s leading children’s hospitals.

The formulary includes all drugs currently used by the anaesthetic department at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Values that you commonly use can be stored and quickly viewed in favourites.

Drug dosages, intravenous fluids and defibrillation energy are all calculated from the weight, and airway equipment from the age of the child. Where only the age or the weight is known the other value is estimated.

Estimated values have been calculated using the 2009 UK Department of Health and Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health UK WHO growth charts. The average value for males and females has been used.

Age range from 24 weeks gestation to 16+ years. Weight range from 0.7Kg to 70+ Kg

Drug groups are colour coded according to the International Colour Coding System for Syringe Labelling recommended by the UK Medical Councils and used in North America and Australasia.
