The Mortar application is integrated with Bagira's JFTES (Joint Fires Training and Exercise System). The application is used to implement the timing for the Mortar firing. It creates an interaction between the user and the simulation which is synchronized and operated on desktops.
The JFTES includes a variety of capabilities and some unique features such as:
•Training in a full virtual reality environment
•Training in complex multi forces missions from operator level to tactical level
•Large Area Data Base Management (LADBM), the ability to train on a large terrain
•Multiple units - the ability to train with thousands of CGFs (Computer Generated Forces) entities including AI (Artificial Intelligence)
•Connectivity to other training systems such as HCT (Howitzer Crew Trainers), EST (Engagement skill Trainers) and others using DIS/HLA
•Radio and Communication Simulation
•Mobile training facilities to provide on-site training systems
•An advanced AAR (After Action Review)
