ne method to Connect to a remote server is the Quick Connect. Just fill in the fields that appear on the main form and click the connect button. The fields are:

-FTP remote host: Specifies the host which you want to connect to.
-Username: Specifies the username.
-Password: Specifies the password. Note: this field is obfuscated.
-Port: Specifies the port to connect to. On FTP servers, it is usually 21.

When these fields are filled, click connect and it will go fine. In case of an error, just look the server response from the stat window. If it is empty, then the host could not be resolved.

Much better is the profile manager. This remembers all information about sites you frequently visit, so they can be accessed FASTER. To add a site, follow these simple steps:

1. Right-click in the tree view of the profiles.
2. Select Add profile
3. Enter the remote server address, and click OK.

A folder of the same name now appears under Profiles. Then, click on this folder and the fields to your right will enable. Fill them as follow:

-Server address: Specifies the remote server to connect to.
-Port #: Specifies the port to use. On FTP servers, it is usually 21.
-Username: Specifies the username to use.
-Password: Specifies the password. Note: this field is obfuscated.
-Proxy name: Specifies your proxy name. If you do not have any or if you do not know, leave it empty.
-Keep-alive delay: Specifies, in milliseconds, the delay Between each PWD command, preventing the connection from timing out.
-Timeout: Specifies, in milliseconds, the time to stay connected to the server.
-Comments: Not used by the server. These are just personal comments you want to keep about this server.
