Who wrote it?

Xblaze was originally written by Kevin Wojniak, also known as Kainjow and is based on the XFireLib library written by Herbert Poul and Beat Wolf.

Why is XBlaze here?

Unfortunately, Kainjow was unable to commit the time and effort to maintaining XBlaze. The project was left unsupported since November 28th 2006. Since then XFire released an update for their official (read: Windows) client that slightly changed how messages were sent over the protocol. This broke the XFireLib library. Any messages that were sent after the first message were simply ignored, and never reached their destination.
For those of us that used XBlaze (and the other programs using XFireLib), this became a very big problem. Fortunately, Beat Wolf / Asraniel was able to write a fix into XFireLib that allowed for communication over the XFire protocol once more.
All that was left to do was recompile XBlaze against the new AdiumX beta source code and the new XFireLib source code. That鈥檚 where I stepped in. It seemed that no other Mac user was willing to help.
Since Kainjow is no longer supporting XBlaze, I took it upon myself to recompile XBlaze with the new sources, with help from Herbert Poul, and I am now providing the newly working XBlaze plugin for download here. (The download at kaintek.com is Broken). you can free download Xblaze 1.1.2 now.
