The Child Welfare Academy mobile app is a tool that will make the practice of Child Protective Services workers from the Office of Children's Services in Alaska easier and more efficient.
Child Protective Services workers make important, life-changing decisions on a daily basis and need to be able to react quickly in any given situation; with the CWA app, we make it possible for workers to make sound decisions that are in the best interest of keeping children safe and families strong.
Protective Services workers need to have access to vital documents that pertain to their work while they are in the field, and the CWA app makes them accessible while on the go. Not only does the CWA app contain these vital Field Guides that are of upmost importance, but our app also offers many different features that will make field practice more effective such as LessonNotes and the NotePad function which enables workers to record and email interviews, take quick notes, and send information immediately to a supervisor or co-worker.
The Contact Service Providers tab and the websites tab offers useful websites and information for Child Protective Services workers to be able to connect clients and service providers easily, as well as offering beneficial information for both the workers and their clients. We are also featuring the comments section so that OCS workers can give us feedback on what will help further facilitate their practice.
When work is done for the day, workers can relax and have some fun with access to the CWA facebook page, as well as interact with peers and fellow workers in the Comments tab by leaving messages, quotes, photos and so much more!
The Child Welfare Academy app is highly useful for Child Protective Services workers and is an invaluable tool that will help to ensure child safety and the effectiveness of the work. Our goal is to make the work of the Office of Children's Services easier and more successful while also making best practice policies widely accessible to their workers.
